In my typical spirit of spontaneity and propensity to fall in love with novelty, I have decided (at least for this week) that I want to move out west someday. Wide open spaces!
I suppose this has to do with my sister, mom, and my Route 66 road trip next summer. We are planning on going to see the grand canyon, L.A. (Hollywood sign!), Disneyland, perhaps San Francisco, and Yosemite. Along the way I am sure we will stop off at a ghost town or two, some Aztec ruins, and the world's largest nut shop. (Haha) I really wanted to go to Winnemucca, so I might quote the famous line in Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere" but that is a bit too far just to satisfy a random country song fixation.
I don't know how much of this dream will come true or how soon. It all depends on how much we can save until next August. But it is a special dream I have tucked away softly in the back of my heart and thinking about it makes me feel wild with Christmas morning-like anticipation. Having such a reachable dream makes each day a little happier and each frustration a little less jagged. Also, in connection to my dreams of Way Out West I have decided I want to go horseback riding. I have always loved horses but never have had the opportunity to ride again. I also want to buy a cowboy hat. Perhaps I might get some genuine cowgirl boots when I travel through Texas. I'm so excited!
Live your dreams! Be brave enough to dream big! Be daring enough to try! The only thing stopping you is you. Don't let life get in the way of falling in love with every wonderful thing God has given you!
